I'm experiencing an issue when setting up a virtual background on my laptop. My appearance becomes very poor, as if half of me is transparent and filled with the virtual background. This wasn't the case on my previous laptop. On my previous laptop's Zoom, my appearance and the background were very neat, with no parts of me being cut off by the virtual background filter.

I've checked and found that there's an option to select the color to be filtered for the virtual background, but the results are still poor, forcing me to use a green screen to achieve a good filter cut.

For your information, I use the latest zoom version, there is not update waiting, and my previous laptop had an Intel Core i5 8th gen, while my current laptop has an Intel Core 3 100u (not the core i3). In terms of specifications, the newer laptop is not a low-end one, so why is the result so different? Also, there's a message stating that my device (laptop) is not compatible with the virtual background. Please assist me, thank you.

Hiya so I'm having a problem during online music classes where I am unable to hear the teacher playing music due to the background noises being suppressed however I am the only one in the meeting who cannot hear the music! Other members in the meeting can, and the teacher has the original audio for musicians setting on. It's like my computer is the only one that doesn't know this setting has been changed. Struggling to find a fix for this as everywhere is just suggesting to make sure they have original audio on which they do! And I can hear the music when joining on my phone just not on my laptop. What can I do?

For our account, we have native Recording and Transcription disabled, unless pre-authorized, due to our very strict security and legal policies.

We just learned that an Otter.AI bot, used by an external user, auto joined a call (Hosted by us) as 'user_otterpilot'. Once the meeting was over, the full transcript of the meeting was emailed to all users on the invitation - based on integration with the external users calendar.

When the Otterpilot AI is recording/transcribing, the Host and all attendees are unaware that this meeting is being recorded.

Does anyone know how we can block these bots from joining our internal calls?  All IP's are different and I can't find out what domain the account is using to attempt blocking that way.

Thanks!

When I go to my profile picture there is no option for help.  Any suggestions welcome. Trying to determine what is the latest version and download it if I don't have it.  When I go to the download center nothing happens when I try to download 5.9.

Hello,

I do not have a 'reactions' button on the bottom of my screen anymore.  It may have disappeared since the last update, but I am not 100% sure.

I am in the middle of a two-day meeting as an attendee.  I have an account through my workplace.

I cannot find a way to indicate a 'raised hand'.  I can submit a screenshot , but I can't see an option to attach it.

I use a MacBook Pro, and I believe I was on Chrome today, but I also have Safari as an option.

Suggestions?

Thank you!

Hello.

I'm trying to create a template.  It seems that if I am editing an invitation, there should be an option to "save as template" at the bottom of the page.  However, I cannot see that.  I am running an older Chrome and can't update on this Windows 7 laptop.  Could this be the problem or is it something/somewhere else?

Also, is there a way to send invitations right from Zoom that come with the embedded calendar invitation?

Can this only be done by allowing Zoom to access my Google Calendar?

Please advise.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I recently updated to Fedora 35 with GNOME 41. This GNOME release restricts the screenshot API which Zoom has used for screen sharing on Wayland, so the screen sharing functionality no longer works (see here on Ask Fedora).

I require screen sharing for school, and I'm sure many others have a similar requirement/system configuration. With Wayland increasingly becoming a de facto standard on Linux, it is crucial that Zoom support Wayland screen sharing.

I am a single Zoom Account user with a single family Microsoft 365 account, not a workplace acount.  The directions given to switch over to the new authentication protocol using Nested App Authentication (NAA) just don't work for me.  Can someone please direct me to a workflow that works? Windows 11, Updated Zoom, current Microsoft Family 365 account.

Dear Valued Customer,

Microsoft is deprecating Outlook legacy tokens with their introduction of a new authentication protocol, Nested App Authentication (NAA). This change will impact the Zoom for Outlook add-in's ability to access calendar data effectively. To ensure uninterrupted functionality, action is required by the week of January 27, 2025. Please use the steps in the support article for uninterrupted service.

If NAA is not enabled, you may encounter the following issues:

  • Inability to update single occurrences in a recurring meeting series.
  • Loss of functionality due to deprecated callback tokens.
  • Compatibility issues with the Outlook REST API.
  • Potential data synchronization problems between Zoom and Outlook.

We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter to ensure a seamless experience with your Zoom for Outlook add-in.

It looks as though there's been an update to Zoom. When I used to schedule a meeting in the Zoom desktop app, it would automatically add it to my iCal calendar, I'd grab the link, and send it to attendees. Now it doesn't do that - it tried to open Outlook instead which I don't use, and iCal doesn't look as though it's an option when I log into the web portal to change the settings.

Can anyone suggest a workaround, because right now, I don't even know how to grab the link to send attendees, as the app only gives me the meeting ID.
