Google Meet interop allow room in the meeting

Hey all,

We set up Zoom rooms with some of our clients, and they are saying that the rooms that join a Google Meet meeting, they have to allow the room into the Google meet meeting.

Is there a way to bypass this?

Thank you.

Hi,

I've been using the zoom client on my NixOS laptop without issue for months now. Suddenly today, my OS updated Zoom to version 6.1.0 (198), which looks a lot different... and no longer allows sharing my desktop.

It shows me an error message, "Can not start share, we only support Wayland on GNOME with Ubuntu 17 and above, Fedora 25 and above...." and a bunch more specified flavors of Linux.

I've been using KDE/Plasma on Wayland since March, and have had zero issues sharing my screen in zoom until today.

Can you please allow screensharing again for other Wayland setups?

Cheers,

John

Zoom screen

Suddenly, two weeks ago, when I am in a zoom room meeting, if someone is off camera, I can no longer see their name in the zoom square. It’s as if no one is there. Similarly, if I take myself off-camera, all I see is a black space without my name.

Add-on for Pro users to access 1080p

It's surprising how Zoom has ignored customer's requests to add an add-on for Pro users to access 1080p

There are many advanced, subtle features in Zoom Meetings. However, a significant hole seems to be this: when running breakout rooms, some people may wish to be excluded from all breakout rooms. Other than manually assigning them, or manually moving them after breakout rooms are started, there is no way to make this simpler.

Here are some options that would help:

1) Have a feature checkbox to set individual users (set by host or by the user) to not go to breakout rooms, and have an icon in the meeting that shows they have chosen this

2) Designate in settings a character at the start of their name (e.g. * or _) that would automatically prevent them from going to breakout rooms

3) Have an option that if enabled automatically prevents users with no video from going to breakout rooms, since for many meetings, the personal touch in a breakout room means the participants want to see each other

The above features would, in my experience, greatly help, in meetings, facilitate the operating of breakout rooms. I have noted in many meetings that the host / co-host asks participants to rename themselves with a special character before the name if they don't want to go to breakout rooms, but then allowing that to be respected automatically rather than needing manual effort, would be helpful. Thanks.

Mute and Unmute buttons look virtually the same on Zoom apple car play app

Both of them have the crossed mic, both of them say "Mute", one of them is slightly darker. There is no way to know if you are currently muted or not: Here are the screenshots for your puzzlement.

When I am using Zoom and my physical environment is noisy, my Zoom audio gets super distorted, and I can no longer understand what the person speaking to me is saying. The AI chatbot was not helpful, and I can't find a clear, direct answer to my problem through searching. I use a MacBook Air and A2031 AirPods (2021). I have tried checking settings on both my AirPods and on Zoom, and I have tried "Test Speaker." The problem is that when I am on a call, the volume levels of my physical environment seem to suppress/distort the sound on my receiving end, to the point I can't understand words being spoken to me. Does anyone have any suggestions of how can I fix this issue?

I am trying to get logged into the Zoom desktop app.  My company uses SSO via google.  When I open the desktop app, I click "keep me signed in" then click the Google icon.   Then I choose my account and log in.  That brings me to the Zoom website in Chrome.  I do not get redirected back to the desktop app.   If I go back to the app, I am not logged in there.

Am I doing something wrong?   My last company had same setup with google SSO, and it was so nice having the zoom app. My current company does have some  Trend micro security stuff installed on my machine.

I also tried the Chrome extension, and same thing happens.  I go through the SSO login, but that doesn't change the extension, which still thinks I am not logged in.

Mac OS Big Sur, 11.6.2

On My settings, participants are allowed to join before the host, and also on our account management but all participants were not allowed unless I'm in. What am I missing here?

Also, this has worked for me before and I haven't made any adjustments so I'm confused about what happened.

Thanks
