Dear Zoom Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I am an avid user of Zoom and have been utilizing this platform for both personal and professional purposes. I have a few questions and concerns regarding the video conferencing features and troubleshooting in Zoom, and I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance from the community.

Firstly, I have been using Zoom for conducting virtual meetings and webinars, and I am curious to know more about the advanced features that can enhance my online communication experience. Specifically, I would like to learn more about the breakout rooms feature, including how to set them up, manage them effectively, and best practices for utilizing them in a variety of scenarios. Additionally, I am interested in understanding how to optimize the screen sharing feature, including sharing multiple screens simultaneously, controlling shared screens remotely, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

Secondly, I have encountered some technical difficulties while using Zoom and would appreciate any insights from the community on how to resolve them. One challenge I have faced is with audio and video quality during video conferences. I would like to know how to troubleshoot and improve audio and video performance, including optimizing bandwidth usage, adjusting settings for audio and video devices, and resolving any latency or lag issues that may arise. Moreover, I have encountered issues with participants dropping out or experiencing connectivity problems during virtual meetings, and I would like to learn about possible causes and solutions for these issues.

Furthermore, I am interested in learning about best practices for ensuring the security and privacy of virtual meetings and webinars. I would like to know how to effectively manage meeting settings, including password protection, waiting rooms, and participant authentication, to prevent unauthorized access or disruptions. I am also curious to know about any additional security features or updates that Zoom has implemented to address potential security concerns.

Lastly, I am eager to explore more advanced features and integrations with Zoom, such as virtual backgrounds, recording and transcribing meetings, and integrating Zoom with other third-party applications. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations or tips from the community on how to make the most of these features and leverage Zoom for a seamless and efficient virtual communication experience.

In summary, my questions and concerns revolve around the advanced features of Zoom for video conferencing, troubleshooting technical difficulties, ensuring security and privacy, and exploring advanced integrations. I am eager to learn from the knowledge and expertise of the Zoom community, and I thank you in advance for any assistance or insights that you can provide.

Best regards,Carol🙏

Hi! Thanking anyone for a reply!

My wife teaches piano with our granddaughter. Recently both her and my wife are unable to hear respective pianos being played during the meeting - but they can hear each other talking.

I have searched for recent answers with no luck other than to say with the latest update you need to have a paid subscription to change the setting for a type of audio suppression cutoff.

I am having trouble changing audio settings to rectify this, does anyone have a solution please?

Signed:

Peter (++desperate++)

I want to allow another person to log-in and claim host for my meeting.  I have tested out the host key many, many times on my end by logging in with my personal unpaid Zoom account and seeing if I'm able to claim host of the meeting that was set-up with my paid work Zoom account, and every single time it works just fine for me. However, others are telling me that sometimes they can't even see the claim host button, and sometimes the host key is working for them and sometimes it does not.

The other day, three of us logged in to test it, and two of us were able to successfully claim host with no issues, but the third person was not able to and kept getting invalid host key error.

We're all working remotely in different areas, so there is no way for me to physically be with the people who are having the issues and walk them through it to triple check what they are doing on their end and be able to see the error happen in real time.

I'm at my wits end because my colleagues are telling me that sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.  Sometimes they can see claim host, sometimes they can't, but I keep testing it and testing it from my computer and have never once had an issue, HELP!

Whenever someone joins my personal meeting room, a pop-up video preview dialog always appears that prompts attendees to turn on their video. I do not want this to be enabled and can't figure out how it was activated or how to deactivate it.

It's an annoying extra step that someone must go through before they join my meetings.

Anyone know the right setting that will allow attendees to join the room with whatever their default setting is (camera on or camera off)?

Hello -- we have had several uncomfortable instances of participants coming off mute during large meetings, despite having the "mute participants upon entry" setting enabled. Is there another setting that would allow us to completely prevent users from unmuting themselves not only upon entry, but throughout the meeting?

In the past, we have found a setting that allowed us to mute participants throughout the meeting, but it also disabled participants from using the meeting chat. We would like to allow participants to use the chat, but remain muted throughout meetings.

When I use Zoom on my desktop computer, the video picture that I see of me is distorted. See pic. Other members of the Zoom session tell me that my picture on their end is fine, no distortion. I had this problem on a previous computer and thought that it was a video card problem. However, I changed the video card (three different times) and it persisted. I bought a new computer and exactly the same problem occurred. I do not have this problem on a laptop which uses the same internet resources and sits adjacent to the desktop. Any suggestions as to cause or cure?
