I tried two ways to reschedule a meeting with an individual attendee. First, I did a rescheduling—just as I had successfully done two weeks ago. But this time I got a “Request failed with status code 401” notification. Then I tried to simply do a new appointment for the given date. That failed too—“status code 401.”

One other annoying problem was that when I tried to use Zoom’s chat support (“Zoe, Zoom’s virtual agent for technical support and Billing”), not only didn’t I find the help I needed, but the chatbox stays one the screen—even when I reboot—and partly obscures the view. I can't get rid of it.

But the crucial issue is getting my new appointment set up by Wednesday morning, June 14.

I’d much appreciate help on this.

Thanks,

Steve A. (“stadvo”)

I need to use Zoom for my studies launched from Google Classroom, and have had a lot of problems with lagging and crashing. I upgraded my broadband to full fibre, but still had problems. I bought a new laptop which is Win11 in S mode so can't install the app, and find I am still unable to follow a full class via the MS Edge browser without lagging and crashing. I don't seem to have issues with any other programmes with either this or other laptops using the same internet connection.

Typically there are around 15 people on the call at a time, and we are in and out of breakout rooms a lot - this often takes a long time to manage the transition.

I am wondering whether I need to come out of S mode and install the Zoom app. Will that improve my connection quality? I understand it's irreversible and will mean losing some security reassurance so don't want to unless it is likely to actually help.

If not that, then what??

If there are technical things to check in settings etc, can instructions please be idiot proof?

All advice gratefully received

I am running Zoom on Window 11 on an HP Laptop with a built-in microphone. Suddenly, other people cannot hear me on Zoom.  I have checked microphone permissions for apps and desktop apps  in Zoom and they are OK.

Today I reinstalled Zoom on the laptop once again and I find going into Zoom application/setting/audio that the Test Mic is greyed out - I can't test it

When I do my own test Zoom meeting I try to join with Computer audio I get a red message saying "Leave Computer Audio" and a message below saying "Failed to detect your microphone. Please make sure your microphone is properly connected."

What do I do now?

I recently bought a HP Envy which comes with windows 11

I've been part of a Zoom open mic for over a year and joined the open mic whilst using HP A8 on windows 10 with no problems, but with the HP Envy on windows 11 no music or musical instruments, or even whistling is heard by other's taking part, whilst talking is heard.

I've gone through the settings on both the laptop and on windows with latest updates installed without success, I am one stop away from taking the laptop back and demanding either money, but having installed so much would rather get to the bottom of what's causing the problem any help would be most appriciated

HI everyone,

I am a guitar teacher that has used Zoom for a little over 3 years, i started using it about a month or 2 before the pandemic after using Skype for almost 10 years.  I was very excited at first to use it, it had better functionality than skype with the ability to record and send things through chat.

The last year has been SUPER disappointing.  The sound quality has gone DONE significantly. I notice regularly at "busy times" - around 5 or 6 PM - that alot of noise - a hissing/whooshing noise - will start, which i can briefly silence by one of us muting our mic, but will come back shortly.

Just as, if not MORE annoying; I always send an email to my new students showing them how to set up the app for Music, first setting the Zoom optimized audio to LOW background noise suppression, then also enabling them to toggle between that and "Original Sound."

What is happening now is having to choose between which problem i want to deal with.  If it doesn't have "original sound" toggled on for them, about 60% of the time it will filter their guitar playing so that i can't hear it, defeating the purpose of doing online lessons.

If they DO toggle "Original Sound" to ON, i will be able to hear them clearly BUT i will hear myself echoed LOUDLY back, which is quite disruptive for me for talking or playing.   This is a recent thing in the last 6-12 months or so.

So either way it stinks. I have actually used Facetime instead a few times lately, with significantly better sound quality without having to fuss with settings.

I will miss the chat window & ability to record, but if i can't get this problem solved, i am going to cancel my zoom account as it just costs money & headache.  Any suggestions?
