We had a strange one in a Zoom meeting today - somebody joined with the user name of "-" and only appeared in the Participant List, they did not appear as a Zoom window (with video either on or off). They were able to comment to Everyone in the meeting as well.

I thought anyone joining a Zoom session would appear as a Zoom window in the Meeting window even if they had Audio and Video off or were phoning in?

Anyone else had this or knows what is happening here?

My customer is using Ubuntu Linux 20.04.3 LTS. He is using Zoom for Video-meetings. He has tried Zoom client, Zoom within the browser Firefox and Chromium.
Always he is encountering the same problem. Video is working, but no sound. Today we started a Zoom test session. There he also tried in addition to his built in microphone of his Lenovo Thinkpad E-590 Laptop an external headset with microphone and speaker. However we always had the same problem of no sound at all.
Sound on the machine is working - he can watch youtube videos etc with sound - no problem.
Zoom sees the microphone but nobody can hear him. It is unmuted.
I also checked the audio section of Ubuntu settings. Which I attach as a screenshot.
Zoom meeting with complete video and sound only worked out twice on the system of my customer, and that happened the last time several months ago.

Seems our regular meetings are randomly locking by themselves and people cannot enter the meeting. Any explanation or setting? I cannot find one in the knowledge base. Really frustrating as we don’t catch it until several people have given up connecting before we catch the lock.

My Logitech 270 is working properly and is up-to-date. On Zoom meetings, I can see myself, but others cannot see me. Audio is not a problem. Also, I am sometimes told that my picture appears, but it is frozen.  I have tried several different ports on my hub, but the problem continues.  (All other devices plugged into the hub work well.)

I am trying to get rid of some old mics I am not using anymore and all the names are still appearing in the Microphone drop down list. It's getting confusing. 

Does anyone know how to edit that list of microphones in the Microphone section in the preferences? I accidentally created two virtual mics with almost the same name.

I have been using zoom on my HP Envy laptop with no issues for several months. Yesterday my zoom app updated automatically, and suddenly it won't recognize the built-in laptop microphone. When I do the audio tests in zoom, it doesn't recognize any talking. If I plug headphones into the laptop (and switch the microphone to the headphones) it works fine. Tested my microphone outside of zoom through the regular windows audio test and it works. Also made sure zoom is still enabled to the microphone in the privacy settings. Any other suggestions? 

I purchased a new computer (HP Envy). I used zoom a couple of times with no issues. I recently tried to use zoom and the microphone was no longer reading on zoom. The mic is not muted-  I have all settings to enable access, permissions, etc. The computer is reading the microphone- it is just when I go to zoom it stops working. I have the latest zoom- I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Everything is up to date.  Any suggestions?

depuis quelque temps je rencontre un soucis lorsqu’il y a une vidéo partagée sur zoom. J’ai les paroles mais zoom considère la musique comme un parasite et du coup me réduit celle ci au minimum. Hors, j’ai contrôlé tout mes réglages, désinstaller/réinstaller zoom rien y fait. Le problème n’est présent que sur zoom.

quelqu’un aurait il une solution?
