Hi, I am having problems with Zoom on my new laptop which I have not had in years of using it before. 

 

- Black/grey boxes visible on participants' screens over any box I have open (e.g. video gallery, which I need to have open!)

I have followed all the steps recommended in the FAQs (Advanced video settings, etc.) and it is still a problem.

 

- My internet connection keeps crashing during meetings - the internet connection is still strong on my laptop, but I get "internet unstable" messages and it crashes repeatedly. 

 

My new laptop is a Lenovo if that makes any difference.

Resolved! SSO error; NameID is empty/missing

I have have a user who cannot sign in with SSO. They are not making any error. I looked at a log and see that the NameID does not populate. I'm not on the team that would be able to check that on the network end. What do I need to be looking for on her account? Universal Principal Name?

"Portrait" filter disappeared

 I chose to have a "portrait" filter added to my camera view. It's like the blurred background but not as intense. I really liked it, but now I can't find it again! Did it move or go away?

Zoom doesn't exit when you press the X icon

This application DOES NOT close when pressing the X icon in the upper right. You can't exit from the taskbar using the right click menu to close window. Even alt-f4 can't close it. Instead this application is set to automatically disappear into the u... Show more

This application DOES NOT close when pressing the X icon in the upper right. You can't exit from the taskbar using the right click menu to close window. Even alt-f4 can't close it. Instead this application is set to automatically disappear into the user's "notification area" so it LOOKS like it's closed, but it stays active in the background. 

The "notification area" is the hidden icon tray. Windows users can find this in the lower right hand side of their screen by clicking the ^ icon near the clock.

You have to either sign out from the user menu and then exit OR right click the icon in the "notification area" or hidden icon tray to exit. 

This program is predatory to people who don't know their program does not close when the X icon is pressed. It should NEVER automatically hide itself and still run in the background. The process to close the program is unintuitive, not user-friendly, and purposely obfuscates how to close the program. I had to google around to find out there is no solution.


You'll need to go to https://zoom.us/feed to submit feedback since this hasn't been addressed since 2022.

Your admin staff needs to make sure the links they provide users are correct. The feedback links on the original post from @RN are invalid.

Cambié de otro servicio para cambiarme por ZOOM antes de la pandemia, porque tenía más funcionalidades.  Sin embargo, desde hace un año regresé al viejo servicio😔 porque el audio no me funciona para mis clases de música, se cancela el sonido, los agudos para las clases de flauta, no se escuchan. Me encantaría regresar a ZOOM si ese problema se solucionara, es lo único por lo que estoy con otro servicio.  Actualmente, estoy en la conferencia de Álvaro Luque y no tengo sonido, he seguido todos los tutoriales, me salí y volví a entrar y sigo sin audio.😠

A few days ago, I found the feature that allowed me to write a message, that the user sees and has to click to acknowledge, right before being to a meeting. (I'm the Admin.) Today, I want to edit that message, however I haven't been able to find the place where I created it, to edit it. I've click around for hours. Please help with detailed instructions.

Zoom crashes Laptop when starting external camera

Our environment is Lenovo laptops running Windows 11 Enterprise 23H2. Connected to a docking station with 2 monitors and external Lenovo webcam. 

 

Ever since the release of version 6.4.0, ever time we start the video using the external camera, the laptop crashes or freezes. It doesn't happen when using the built-in camera. We ruled out that it's not the dock station since we have different models of docks and we've also plugged the external camera directly to the laptop. It has happened to over 50 users in our company. The other workaround is perform the following in Zoom. It's a workaround, not a fix. Is Zoom going to address this issue?

 
1.      Select your profile picture in the top-right.
2.      Click Settings.
3.      On the left-hand menu, select Video.
4.      Click Advanced.
5.      Beneath Use hardware acceleration for, uncheck all the options.
 
1.      Launch Zoom Client.
2.      Open its Settings and select Video from the left side.
3.      Click Advanced and then select Direct3D9 in the Video Rendering Method drop-down menu.
4.      Leave other options to Auto.
5.      Restart Zoom
