I often want Zoom to take up half my screen. Whenever I open the chat in a meeting, instead of resizing the elements within the zoom window to create room for the chat window, the entire Zoom window resizes, adding on the width to display the chat. When I close the chat, instead of the video getting larger to fill the extra space, then entire Zoom window contracts.

 

How can I disable this behavior? I want the Zoom window to stay the exact same size whether I have the chat open or not.

I am not seen by others in meetings, my video is a black screen.

My video and camera are working fine. I've made sure my video is on.  Other participants see me only as a black screen unless I turn my video off and then they will see only my name.  This only happens when I am a participant. Everything works fine when I am a host. Please help!

my schedule meeting setup page has an invitee box to fill out but will not send the invite out to them.  I have to copy the meeting and then go to my email account, copy and paste the meeting, and address to them there.  

 

Do i need to link my email provider to zoom to make the invite work automatically?

On previous versions scheduler opened an email and then could select address from there.  Now in the attendees box i have to type in the email address (which, of course means i need to know the detail of it). Once i have typed it in it appears as a drop down!  Very annoying.  It seems the most recent version is less user friendly.

Zoom on Linux hangs at startup

Launching zoom from the command line with `/usr/bin/zoom`, nothing at all happens.

 

- Debian 12

- Pipewire (not sure if relevant)

- Zoom Version 5.15.5 (5603) / 5.9.6(2225)

 

Messages below end up in the logs. After this, no more messages are emitted, the process and its subprocesses still run, but no window appears. strace shows a lot of system calls still happening in multiple processes, but I'm not able to deduce any root cause from this.

 

I already found these threads, but the solution/workaround offered does not solve my problem:

Resolved! signup registration mail; not being sent

I am trying to create a  paid account for my company  with the email adress with a company email adress, however de email with the registration link does not arrive.

 

I have checked the spam folders and sent emails to the adress manualy to confirm it works. I have even gone into our mail server, and looked at the mail history and i can see no registration email has actualy been received from zoom.

I tried opening a case using the company adress, but that got rejected with the suggestion , that i register 1st (Duh??!)

Next I used my personal account to create the support ticket, which got automaticallt clsoed in seconds with a message "Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to your open ticket at this time."

Searching on the internet does not reveal any outages , but does show other people having similar problems, suggesting to contact support (really?).  
Anybody has any idea?
