A person calling himself "James Smith" and pretending to represent "Ritual.com"  preys on job seekers, trying to get them to add "ritual-at-job4u.com" to their Zoom contacts to facilitate an online hiring process. (That e-mail address uses a domain name that is registered but parked (not in use).

 

Ritual, apparently, is a real company that sells vitamins online—and I suspect they don't know about this scam. "James Smith" contacted my son—a video editor—about producing content for Ritual. He's had this happen before. At some point the fake HR manager says he needs to send money—for equipment or something, and says he will be reimbursed.  I believe the last time this happened, the scammers also used Zoom as part of the scheme. 

So... beware!

I have been participating in regular zoom meetings for years.  Tried to log in to a regular meeting this morning and got a complete runaround.  First they tried to log me into facebook, which I do not use.  Then they sent me to the login page, which I have never had to do before, and after multiple attempts, I created an account.  I still could not log in to my meeting.  And the AI 'assistant' (which is garbage) kept running me in circles.  And tech support is only for paid customers.  I see that there has been an 'upgrade' here, but it has made things worse.  Using a Windows 11 PC.

I am having issues with a new pair of Bluetooth headphones that I am using in zoom meetings. The old one works well without any issues, it was just too old and worn down so I had to replace it. (I am using a windows 11 computer). With the new headphones, I am having issues while on call. The microphone just stops working after 2 - 3 minutes in the call, I have to disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth manually for it to work again, and just gets disconnected after 2 - 3 minutes.

 

This is a lot of hassle since I am conducting online classes, and the mic stops working in the middle of my discussion. I tried to use the same Bluetooth headphones (the replacement) on a mac and it's working fine. It only has issues on Zoom when using windows. I tried using the same headphones with other applications on windows and they are working fine.

 

I tried the following fixes, but to no avail:

(1) Unpair and pair the BT headphones, then restart the computer

(2) Uninstall and reinstall BT drivers (under device manager)

(3) Updated the drivers for my computer (from the manufacturer's end)

(3) Uninstall and reinstall Zoom

 

What could be another way to fix this issue?

Resolved! Incorrect Cloud Storage Calculating?

We keep regularly getting emails from Zoom saying we are using 1.76 GB worth of cloud recordings, and that our account only has 1 GB of cloud storage. However, whenever I check our Zoom archive of cloud recordings, there's certainly less than 2GB tot... Show more

We keep regularly getting emails from Zoom saying we are using 1.76 GB worth of cloud recordings, and that our account only has 1 GB of cloud storage. However, whenever I check our Zoom archive of cloud recordings, there's certainly less than 2GB total.  And the total we are allowed for this account is 5 GB? Any ideas?

 

Also, we have a number of local recordings stored on a few different laptops, but this shouldn't contribute to our cloud storage total, right??

 

 

This is largely a repost, however, we are having the exact same issues!  We received an email stating " This is a reminder that your account is using more than the available cloud recording storage. Cloud recording will be disabled on Jan 11."

 

If anyone has any ideas or any similar situations/findings you can share, I'd sincerely appreciate it! Thank you!

Quick access to most used Languages

I am sure many users participate in calls in multiple languages like me. The meetings I participate can be in Portuguese, Spanish or English in the same day. I typically turn on the Closed Caption feature as it makes it easier to follow certain calls... Show more

I am sure many users participate in calls in multiple languages like me.  The meetings I participate can be in Portuguese, Spanish or English in the same day.  I typically turn on the Closed Caption feature as it makes it easier to follow certain calls.  The problem is that everytime I start a meeting, I have to switch languages manually and need to find where the language is on the list menu.  My ask is that either I choose my preferable languages or have Zoom app understand the most used languages and set them on the top of the list or the bottom for quicker access.  Thank you.

Hi,

I’m experiencing a persistent light pink background during Zoom meetings, even though all background and visual effect settings are set to "None". I’ve double-checked the following:

  • Virtual Background is set to “None”

  • Studio Effects are all disabled

  • Touch up my appearance is off

  • Adjust for low light is set to manual and turned off

  • I tried switching between different cameras (built-in and external) — the pink background remains

  • I completely removed Zoom, deleted the zoom.us folder from Application Support, rebooted, and reinstalled the app

  • I also tested my webcam in other apps — the image is perfectly normal there (no pink background)

  • Even in a fresh Zoom install, the pink background persists

  • Tested in guest mode and in browser — same issue

Any ideas what might be causing this? Is it possible that my account is storing some background or visual setting remotely?

A few weeks ago I did a presentation and the recording was great, it recorded me, my learners and the presentation in gallery view no problems. But, last week I did the same thing but when the recording downloaded it only recorded my presentation and not me or my learners. I have tried looking into this and changing anything to help but nothings working. Now every time I practice recording it only records the presentation. I need to but able to record in gallery view in a few days time and I don't know what to do. Please Help!!!
