Zoom forces an update to sign in. Downloading the latest version from https://zoom.us/download and running the exe file simply opens the app. I now cannot sign in or join any meetings with the desktop client. Any help or ideas? Do I need to uninstall Zoom and reinstall it?

Hi @dolphin7 ,
Uninstall the zoom application and download it directly from the ZOOM download center, it may be that at the time of installation some file was incomplete or corrupt:
Best regards,

Zoom is forcing me to install the Update today. I see patients virtually. I have now tried 12 times. I only log-in with google using that password. When it gets to the authentication piece and I type in my google log-in it refuses. It won't install and bumps me out. I need to use my platform and it's extremely difficult to find a LIVE person to talk to. I need a workaround as I don't think I have a regular log-in that is NOT a google log-in or atleast that I know of. They should not force you to Update - especially at the beginning of the day when you are a medical provider! Gina G

If I could find it, I could update it. It downloads, then says it won't update because I am not an adminstrator. Oh, believe me, I am the administrator. No human to help. I will cancel the payments.

hi dolphin7,
if this has to do with installation of macos, this may be a solution.
LC8 provided a solution which worked.
https://community.zoom.com/t5/Meetings/Mac-Ventura-13-0/m-p/82960/highlight/true#M45119
LC8 found a fix. LC8 went into settings and gave permission for installer to access LC8 downloads folder. The installation worked straight away after that.
LC8 went into settings, Privacy and Security, Files and Folders, then clicked on an arrow to the left of installer, which brings up the option to allow access to the downloads folder. This needs to be toggled on.
please give this a try and let us know your results.
thanks, eliot

engineering hot fix is contained in 5.12.7 which was just released and should be available for Windows and macOS already: https://zoom.us/download
