Recording in gallery view

I'll be the host for a workshop. I'd like to record in Gallery view. Do I have to wait until the event starts to change this setting? I'm not clear from zoom instructions how to change this setting. Please advise.
Also, is it possible to both record in gallery and hide myself from my own view? just to clarify-- I'd like viewers of the recording to see me. Thanks.

Hello @TherapistPR

You can set that setting prior to the meeting, in fact I recommend that. You can also record in gallery view with you self-view active in the meeting. You will just be one of the tiles in the gallery view. If you hide your self-view, I am not 100% sure how that will record, as I have never tested it, but I find it always a good idea to do a test run when you are about to join or host an important meeting or webinar.

Thanks,

TherapistPR,

Before the call, you can change your recording settings by logging into zoom.us, going to Settings > Recording > Make sure you've selected to record the gallery

This way, if you record to cloud you'll be able to have a gallery view recording, and can even have additional recordings for the active speaker view, audio-only recordings, etc. More information can be found here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360060316092-Changing-basic-and-advanced-cloud-recording-s...

You can hide your "Self View" in the gallery during the meeting, but still be visible to the others and on the recording. You can do this by hovering over your video in the gallery, selecting the "...", and clicking "Hide Self View": https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/4538850260109-Hide-My-Video
