Name not showing up correct when in a meeting

When I am on screen in a meeting, the name I have set up in my profile is not the same that I put in my profile.   In my profile I have clearly input my first and last name, with the first letter Capitalized.   In my screen when in a meeting, my name shows up only as my first name with the first letter lower case.

How do I fix this?

If you "joined" the meeting then you had the choice to enter your name on the same window as the meeting id and it can be different than your profile name. If you joined the meeting using a link provided by the host the name used will still be that name entered on the "join" window if it had the remember box checked. Next time join manually by entering the meeting ID and check the name on that window.

I have done everything suggested. My profile has my name. My display name is correct. And sometimes my real name does appear to the host. But more often what the host sees and comes up on my window is Zoom User. If the window comes up I can change it manually. But the problem is when a host sees Zoom User and won't let me in.

My window shows my name as Zoom User. When that shows in the waiting room, I am often not allowed in. Nothing has helped. Here are the instructions for changing your name:

Change your name on the Zoom web portal

1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal. --DONE
2. In the navigation menu, click Profile. -- DONE
3. By your account profile name, click Edit. -- DONE
4. For your account profile name, enter your First Name and Last Name. -- HAS LWAYS SHOWN MY NAME.
5. For your Display Name, enter a name (e.g. your first name, full name, or nickname) that will be shown to others on Zoom. -- HAS ALWAYS SHOWN MY NAME. I'VE DELETED IT AND INSERTED IT AGAIN, IT SHOWS MY NAME, BUT THE WINDOW WITH MY PICTURE SHOWS Zoom User.  It takes a few seconds to change it, but I am often not let in because the waiting room also shows Zoom User and I can't change that.
6. Click Save. --DONE

This has been an ongoing problem. I've never heard of anyone else being called Zoom User instead of their correct name.

None of what you have listed has anything to do with the name displayed in the Zoom participant list. That name is set as was shown above when you MANUALLY join a meeting you enter the name in the text box just below the meeting ID text box. By default that name is set to "Zoom User". You need to change it to what ever name you want displayed in the participant list and make sure that "Remember my name for future meetings" is checked. If you are joining a meeting via a link then you have skipped this entire process.

Thanks! I got the first step, but in the Zoom Workplace I don't see "Remember my name for future meetings." Can you tell me what steps to take, step by step, to get to wherever I go to make a permanent change?

Assuming that you are using a PC.

Start the Zoom desktop client

Click "Join a meeting"

enter meeting ID

On the "Join meeting dialog window" enter the name you want shown in the textbox below the Meeting ID textbox

Check "Remember my name for future meetings"

Click Join

Enter passcode

click join meeting

The name you entered will now be remembered for all future meetings.

Check your meeting platform settings for name display options, as it may be overriding your profile settings. Additionally, ensure that your profile is fully updated and synced; sometimes logging out and back in can refresh your information.

My name display is my actual name. That is the mystery. Why my name is in the box for Display Name but the actual display name is Zoom User. The Zoom Workplace box shows ZU instead of my picture.
