We're integrating the Zoom Virtual Agent chat client into our web app by following the documentation here: https://developers.zoom.us/docs/virtual-agent/web/chat/

The chat client is attached to a button as suggested in the docs. It works correctly when the page is refreshed directly (hard reload), and the chat button appears as expected. However, when navigating to the page via client-side routing (using Next.js), the chat client does not appear.

We’ve confirmed that the SDK is enabled and available in the global window context, but it seems like the initialization does not re-trigger on client-side navigation.

We’d appreciate guidance on how to properly reinitialize or ensure the chat client loads correctly in single-page app (SPA) scenarios, especially when navigating between routes without a full page reload.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to bring up a frustrating issue I've been experiencing with the Zoom Workplace Android client. Currently, it doesn't seem possible to directly reply to incoming direct messages or channel messages from the phone's notifications.

This limitation feels particularly noticeable because almost all other major messaging platforms I use, such as Skype, Microsoft Teams, Slack, WhatsApp, and Messenger, offer the ability to reply directly from Android notifications. This allows for quick responses without needing to open the full app.

 

The inability to reply from the phone notification has a knock-on effect for smartwatch users, like myself (using a Garmin). Because the reply action isn't available on the phone notification, that functionality is also absent on the smartwatch. 

 

Has anyone else encountered this? Is this a known limitation, or is there a setting I might be missing? It would be fantastic if the development team could look into enabling direct replies from Android notifications, bringing Zoom Workplace in line with the functionality offered by other popular messaging tools. This enhancement would greatly improve the user experience, particularly for those of us who rely on smartwatches for quick communication.

I can't stand Team Chat.Ideally, I'd be able to disable Team Chat entirely—my team and I have absolutely no use for it, and I've gone as far as requesting nobody comment during meetings in the in-meeting chat to avoid further notifications.

 

At the very least, I want to at least turn off the red notification bubble on the dock icon—I have enough already that are actually important, and having 99+ notifications on the Zoom icon is really not helpful.

 

The only solution I've found is signing out entirely, which is annoying due to the NEW "You are chatting as a guest" notification which blocks the first messages in the in-meeting chat. (attached)

 

Would love a solution to this—I am frustrated beyond belief by this new "feature". Please stop fixing things that are not broken.

About Notification

I have been receiving notifications of chats from people I have added to my Favorites list at the same time as direct messages, but I can't figure out why. How can I stop the notifications from reaching my direct messages as before?

Chat spelling & grammar does not stay disabled after manually setting it

I cannot seem to find a way to make my spelling & grammar settings remain set, or have a global setting for disabling these for all chats.

 

I go chat by chat and disable the grammar & spelling given I find it a bit annoying, but after a while everything goes back to preset (all checked = acitve).

 

Any thoughts on this?

Is there a way to show more than 5 members in a team chat?  I have a few chats with more than 5 people in them and only 5 display with a button under them that says "View all 10 members".  Clicking on that opens up a popup that displays everyone. There is more than enough space on the screen to just display all 10 members permanently. Is there a way to do this?

Is there a way to get messages in Team Chat desktop app that are bookmarked to show up like they do in the phone app? In the phone app, if I'm looking at a chat message that has been bookmarked, the bookmark icon shows up next to the message. In the desktop app, that same message does not have that icon and I can't tell what has been bookmarked unless I look at my Bookmarks. Would love to have that icon.

Why can't I see a message sent by someone in a group of 7 people, but other people can see it?

 

In a workgroup, the messages from April 4 have disappeared, but the ones from before and after are there. I am the only one who cannot see this message posted in a text group of 7 people. How is this possible? I restarted everything, tried reconnecting, but nothing. I have a colleague who sent me a screenshot, showing that he can see this message and I still do not see it on my side.

Pourquoi ne puis-je pas voir un message envoyé par quelqu'un dans un groupe de 7 personnes, mais d'autres personnes peuvent le voir ?

Dans un groupe de travail, les message du 04/04 ont disparu, mais ceux d'avant et après sont là. Je suis le seul qui ne peut voir ce message posté dans un groupe textuel de 7 personnes. Comment est-ce possible ? J'ai tout redémarré, tentez la reconnexion, mais rien. J'ai un collègue qui m'a envoyé une capture, montrant qu'il peut voir ce message et je ne le vois toujours pas de mon côté.
