Closed Captioning attached to a recording

We've recorded a meeting on the cloud with closed captioning, and we can watch it on the cloud and the CC shows. If we download it, so we can send it to our H.I. client the CC is no longer attached. 

 

Is there a way to keep it attached? Other suggestions? What is the best way to help our H.I. client?

Hey @reverett, try using a VLC player instead of Quicktime because that video player will pick up the vtt file that is contained in the recording folder and hopefully display it while playing the video.

  1. Start your instant or scheduled meeting.
  2. Click Closed Caption .
  3. In the Closed Caption window, after closed caption is entered by yourself or another party, click Save closed caption history.
  4. Click Show in Folder or Finder to access your saved captions and play the video file with VLC.


Here is the download link for your MacOS https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html or https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html for Windows 


Once installed right-click on the video file (mp4), choose "Open with" and select "VLC".

 

As of now, I don't believe you can download a recording with Audio transcripts embedded, however, they're saved in VTT format. If you download the VTT file, you can open it with a text editor or word processing application as suggested above. You can also view or edit transcripts in the web portal.

 

Hope this workaround helps you out!

Hi there!

 

I am also trying to understand how to do this. I've downloaded the software you mentioned above, and opened the MP4 file. There are no captions attached. Zoom originally provided 5 separate files, which included multiple video files as well as the audio and chat transcripts. Can you please advise?
