Zoom not working on Amazon echo show 8

Hello there,

I am facing an issue with Zoom not working on my Amazon Echo Show 8. After logging in, it does not allow me to join meetings and suggests upgrading the rooms.

Currently, the Zoom version on my Echo is 5.12, while the latest available version (at the time of writing) is 5.15. I attempted to follow the instructions from support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/204675449-Upgrading-or-downgrading-Zoom-Rooms#h_1751c48a-644e-4a60..., but unfortunately, the app on the Echo did not upgrade, and a popup message saying "No device(s) upgrade available." appeared.

Is there any workaround for this issue? Thanks in advance!

Zoom has minimum version that are supported. Currently at time of writing, it is 5.12.2: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360059429231-Zoom-Software-Quarterly-Lifecycle-Policy 

 

Try to update the Amazon firmware first:

  1. Say, "Go to settings," or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
  2. Select Device Options.
  3. Select Check for Software Updates to check for and install software updates.

If you are still having issues, you will need to contact Amazon support.

I've tried all the ways of updating (both OS and APP) before I shared the question, but the issue was still present at the time of posting. However, when I checked the app today, it magically is already updated to version 5.15.5. Did you release a recent update? Thanks for the assistance.

For appliance makers it is normal to have a delay as they also need to check it also before a public release.
