I am running the latest version of Zoom (5.10.6) on Ubuntu 18.04 and as of this morning Zoom is no longer able to view

my camera output (Logitech C525).  Other applications are able to view the camera output but not Zoom.

When I select my C525 camera for video the screen is black.   I have uninstalled and reinstalled the application multiple times.

Are device permissions stored under /opt/zoom for things like cameras?

Thanks!

We are a K12 Education entity and have times where we are connecting to official meetings that use Zoom. We are having issues with the majority of our users not being able to download attachments from the meetings.  Typically they are on a Windows PC that has our Internet Filter software installed.  However, I do not have the software installed on my test machine here in the Technology Department, and I am able to download the same attachments without an issue.  We can also remove the filter from a machine having the issue, and it will resolve the problem... but that is not an option.

So I know the correct this issue, we need to unblock whatever CDN that zoom uses to host their file attachments during the meeting.  Does anyone have this list of sites they use (or IPs) that we can add to our filter to correct the issue?

As a followup, because my reply to my own post didn't show up, we have already added:

  • zoom.us
  • zoom.com
  • meetzoom.net
  • cloudfront.net

Thanks.

Many users like us have conference room set ups with the camera located below TV.  During a presentation when the screen or slides are being shared, everyone is now looking up to the top of the screen, the farthest possible from the camera, to see and converse with other meeting participants.

Please add a View Option that locates participants to bottom of the ZOOM presentation.  This seems very simple to implement and add to other View options menu that exists today.

Side note--I realize you can drag and drop the window with participant camera view to wherever needed, including bottom of the screen.  But this method overlays the participants on top of the presentation being shared and causes other issues.  A simple View option as described above is much cleaner.

I have noticed recently that some of the meetings I have scheduled are now appearing twice (in one case three times).  The 'extra' meetings have a different meeting ID/Zoom link than the original meeting, and individual users have been invited to these 'extra' meetings (I don't ever invite people to a meeting via the Zoom app).

I also recently added a 'Save the Date' for an in-person conference to my calendar, and that, too, is now showing up in my Zoom meetings (even though it is not a Zoom meeting). Once again, individual users are showing up in this meeting in Zoom (it looks like the same people who accepted the calendar invite I sent via Outlook).

Any idea what might be going on? I can't seem to find an answer. I didn't do anything to update/change settings between my Outlook calendar and my Zoom account and now I have all these extra meetings showing up...

Breakout rooms

I have the Workplace Pro Plan. Does this plan give me access to the breakout rooms?  I have a meeting scheduled for tonight and need to have 2 breakout rooms.  Is this possible with my current plan?

So my Japanese is not fluent, but I have many different Zoom meeting in Japanese every day. I would like to be able to have the live Captions translated into English, or using AI to translate voice. Is anyone here aware of any solutions to this? The Zoom translated captions require the Host to enable them, so that is out - I can not convince a 100 managers to enable it. It should be something I do as a client, even if I have to pay.

Obviously I can use my phone, "Microsoft Translator" and have it translate live, but that isn't great in a headphone only situation. I can probably cook something up with a pseudo audio device and pipe into other software...

But it seems this would be one of the first things you would want with Zoom?

Hello, we work in Turkey and most of our meeting are in Turkish. We have new foreigner colleague. He needs to simultaneous translation of the meetings. When he manually opens translation to English, it really does not work. Subtitle of the Turkish version works well but it does not translate into English good. How can we solve this problem? Do we need to do something else or do you have any other suggestions to make him understand simultaneously?
