How do I just record myself when not in a meeting?

To record yourself when not in a Zoom meeting, use the Camera app on Windows. Click Start and type Camera. After the app opens, click the Video icon. I added a screenshot of the steps. 

I do not have a Mac, but I think the steps are to open Finder, then Applications, and use QuickTime Player

You could also use your phone.
