Windows 11 - Zoom reboots PC during meeting

My PC restarts at irregular intervals during a Zoom meeting. I assume it just shuts down and restarts, but there is no blue screen.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Both Windows and Zoom are up to date with the latest updates.

Seriously, I don't expect this post to be here long, but not having the option to keep any type of real-time support unless I spend $50/month is a knock-on small business. I am a sole proprietor and only need 1 Zoom account, most of my meetings are either one-to-one or small groups I have no idea how to or want to spend $50 a month to even access the chat support option. when I looked into the business option the minimum account size was 10 accounts or 1999.00 a year. Last time I checked, small individuals made your success possible, yet now we are no longer relevant. Shame on this decision zoom, shame...

I have been using Zoom professionally for about half a decade now and I love it.

I am a professional technical consultant and show control programmer for theatre, dance, art installations, and remote performance.

The software I use is called Isadora and two very important keyboard shortcuts are Cmd+3 and Cmd+4. Without them, I can only work at one tenth the speed I normally do.

I use Zoom to meet remotely with clients, I have them screenshare, then I request remote control so I can work on their Isadora files in-situ (with their hardware, media, the real production computer, etc).

My problem is that sometimes I can use the keyboard shortcuts in Isadora sometimes, but occasionally, (and I cannot for the life of me figure out why), Zoom starts stealing the keyboard focus and eating the critical keyboard shortcuts Cmd+3 and Cmd+4, leaving me completely unable to work remotely.

Instead, Cmd+3 does nothing and Cmd+4 brings up this "Scale your business" ad: Screen Shot 2025-11-23 at 8.21.20 AM.png - Google Drive

Other keyboard shortcuts like copy and paste still work in Isadora, and system keyboard shortcuts like taking a screenshot on their computer (Cmd+Shift+3 and Cmd+Shift+4) still work.

I have tried going into Zoom > Settings > Keyboard shortcuts and have removed every single keyboard shortcut that I'm allowed to. I do not have, and have never had, any global keyboard shortcuts enabled.

Unfortunately it seems that the offending keyboard shortcut is not one that I can change or clear. It seems to be Zoom > Settings > Keyboard shortcuts > General > Move to specific tabScreen Shot 2025-11-23 at 8.22.35 AM.png - Google Drive

This Zoom behavior was so disruptive to my workflow that I needed to stop working on a critical file with a paying client mid work-session last night for a presentation he's doing on Monday because it was not feasible for me to sit there and ask him to press the keyboard shortcuts I needed every 5-10 seconds for hours (which is what I would have needed to do in order to work effectively).

The only way I can currently see in order to preserve my workflow is to pay €250/year for TeamViewer or something similar and have that running at the same time as Zoom whenever I'm working. Is there a different way to stop zoom from bringing up this infuriating ad when I press this keyboard shortcut? Perhaps Zoom could make it possible for the user to disable this particular keyboard shortcut, (like one can with many other Zoom keyboard shortcuts), that I never want to use so that I don't have to pay for another software just so I can use two critical keyboard shortcuts?

This is driving me up a wall and, as I said, has been hamstringing my ability to work on projects professionally using Zoom.

I have a virtual class when classmates are signed on and enter the meeting we are all displayed in a grid formation.  The teacher is always top upper left, (on my screen) I am always situated next to him.  I never move down into the grid, switch rows, move further left or right etc.  other classmates seem to bounce around in their placement.  But I always occupy the position next to the teacher.  What are the dynamics going on here?  Do others see a similar placement on their screens?  Does what I see and static placement have to do with my settings?  Is the teacher controlling this?

Hello

We facilitate AA meetings on Zoom and because of the open format and public posting of meetings we are a prime target for Zoom Bombers. We remove and report the Bombers when they come in.   We use all the available features to limit interruptions but they find ways around them. This post is not to illicit zoom 101 comments, it to hopefully be an online petition for Zoom to track the accounts, IP addresses, and other identifying factors of Bombers' to restrict their access to the platform. We have done all we can, we need Zoom to start removing bad actors. Please help!

Thanks

Hello everyone,

i am having issues with the windows Zoom Workplace app version 6.3.6(56144), this started a week ago. For some reason i am unable to get either the 64 bit or 32 bit app to connect. Though i am unsure what they are trying to connect to.
after logging in to the app with my email and password i see the "working" dot circle then the following message appears

"It looks like we are unable to connect. Please check your network and try again."

the only two other things that show up in the window are the blue "try again" button right below the message and a small "< Back " in the lower left corner.

i have no issue logging into zoom workplace via my browser (firefox in case you want to know) so i know my log in info is correct and my net is stable.

am i correct in thinking that the app is trying to connect to Zoom? or is it trying to access Google? how to i get the app (i think it's a webapp?) to connect with whatever it is looking for? how to i debug the app? clear it's cache? access it's settings without logging in?

any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Protector152

Hello, how do I operate this new zoom network?

It is absolutely frustrating every time I close a zoom meeting the application remains open and minimizes itself to the notifications area. Who thought this was a good idea? I would like to close the application and be done with it. This becomes a multi-step process to close out of zoom after every meeting that is a waste of my time. It's even more infuriating that there is no way to turn this option off. I've searched the forum for similar posts and the zoom team marked it as solved. The issue is NOT solved hence why I am resurfacing this issue. It's a complete disregard to the end user and such a waste of resources.

Please develop a real solution for this problem before closing out this topic.
