Hi everyone,
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I'm trying to join a Zoom Events meeting using the Meeting ID and passcode, but it's not letting me in. Instead of joining the meeting, Zoom just redirects me to use the meeting link.
This is a bit inconvenient since I usually prefer (or need) to join using the Meeting ID and passcode.
Has anyone found a workaround or solution for this? Is this expected behavior for Zoom Events meetings, or is there a setting that needs to be adjusted on the host's side?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Zoom Events meetings aren’t treated the same way as standard Zoom Meetings. They’re part of an event framework that:
Requires registration and authentication through the Zoom Events platform
Ties access to unique join links, not just the Meeting ID + passcode combo
Often includes extra security/auth settings (e.g., email validation, ticketing)
So even if you have the Meeting ID and passcode, Zoom will usually force you to go through the Zoom Events portal to verify your registration and then redirect you via the correct link.
Use the unique join link from your Zoom Events confirmation email or calendar invite.
If you lost it, try logging into https://events.zoom.us/ and checking “Tickets.”
Ask the host to convert the session to a regular Zoom Meeting if appropriate and security isn’t a concern.
This allows people to join via Meeting ID + passcode the old-school way.
If you're the host or admin:
Zoom Events does not currently allow disabling this behavior. But you can include the direct join link (with embedded token) in calendar invites to make it easier for participants.
