video filters missing from settings

veganqueso
Listener

When logged into the Zoom Desktop app, the video filters tab in the "Background & Effects" section says that video filters are disabled and need to be enabled in the my profile settings. However, I seem to be missing video filters from my profile settings within "In Meetings (advanced)".  Searching "filter" in the settings search fields yeild no results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Having the same issue. Looking forward to any responses...

Same here. There does not appear any way to get an answer.

Same here, seems they've done away with them and added the mustache, eyebrow and lip color feature. I would rather have the video filters back.

Same issue here. Please bring back video filters!

I am also encountering this exact same issue.

I don't see the setting anymore either in my user settings, however I do see that option when I click into a group I'm a member of with small admin privs.

Did Zoom maybe make this an admin only thing or something?

I just spent over 30 mins in a live support chat trying to get to the bottom of this. Yes, it appears that this is something that can be disabled at an admin/owner level. I am confused as to why, unlike other settings, it wouldn't then still show up as a grayed-out option with the note that it has been turned off by admin. So, I'm contacting my admin to see if they will turn it back on. Very annoying.

I've got the Pro One plan. Zoom does not even let you chat support with them on this plan unless you spend $50 per month. Anyway the video filter section is missing on my settings page as well?

Did you figure it out.

I have been unable to locate an option to turn on video filters which are not referenced in my account settings. I am the administrator. If you figure it out, please post. Thank you.

UPDATE: Turns out it was turned off by our administrator. So, at least I know why it's not there, but they won't tell me why they disabled it. Oh, well...

I would like to know how to enable it. Very frustrating!

I'm the administrator of my own account and I cannot access these settings. It is just totally broken for some users it seems.

We pay for dozens of licenses and I'm the admin and I cannot do anything. Please fix this Zoom!

I've had an open ticket on this issue since the beginning of March and they still haven't given me this much information, i.e. that it's an administrator setting. They told me some nonsense about not being available in my region, even though it has been available for years up until a few months ago. When I sign out, there is an empty space for filters and when I sign back in the link to the filters option vanishes.

This is my own account, so I don't know how I would not be an administrator of my own account.

Today, I don't even see my ticket anymore - not "resolved", nothing at all when I click through the email, as if I had never sent in a request at all. I hope someone finds an answer as to how to rectify this.

I have the same problem which I have been unable to resolve in my account settings. No option.

Okay so zoom removed this setting for some unknown reason, we are all stuck.  It is crazy that they don't support there product for a paid user, not even chat, email, trouble ticket system.

Hello all,

if this issue is specific to a version and not some other reason you would be doing yourself and all Zoom users a service by reporting the issue in a Zoom support ticket so that it can be identified and fixed by Zoom developers.

I suggest you submit a ticket with Zoom support (https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/requests/new)

Regards

This isn't an issue with a specific version, I've updated my software several times, and also went back to earlier versions. I put in a ticket at the beginning of March and I still don't have an answer.

Should I put in another ticket? I haven't heard an update for a week and the link to my ticket is broken/doesn't show a ticket there anymore.

I don't know if this issue is specific to a particular version. My software is current. I noticed the video filter settings disappeared in the process of several software upgrades. I have submitted a ticket and will report back if and when I hear from Zoom. Thank you.

All, here’s the response I just received from Zoom:

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for contacting Zoom Support. Jenel here, happy to help.

I'm sorry to know that you are having issues with your Zoom application as the 'Video Filters' feature is not appearing.

I've replicated this on my end using the latest version and I have the Video Filters options.

Can you please try refreshing the Zoom application by uninstalling and reinstalling to fix this? Doing this will help eliminate any possible glitch or errors within the app.

Windows

Remove Zoom from the Control Panel

  1. In the Windows search bar, search for Control Panel.
  2. Click the Control Panel app.
  3. If Control Panel is set to Category view, click Uninstall a Program.Alternatively, if View by is set to Large or Small icons, click Programs and Features.
  4. Select Zoom in the programs list, then click Uninstall.
  5. If prompted Are you sure you want to uninstall Zoom?, click Yes.
  6. Once completed, download Zoom from our download center and reinstall

Once done, test again and let us know how it went.

Should the issue persist, please provide a screenshot of what you're getting as well as your device's specifications.

We'll be on the lookout for your update.

Best regards,
Jenel

Did this work for you?

I received something similar, uninstalled and reinstalled, updated and went back to an old version and re-updated again. I still don't see the link for filters.

I'm starting think the team responsible for filters was laid off.

Hello all, I messaged the tech to ask if I would lose all my settings if I uninstalled and reinstalled Zoom, and the answer is yes. It will also delete all recordings and virtual backgrounds. I don’t have the time right now to reinvent my Zoom account particularly since he doesn’t know if it will even work. The only other suggestion he had is to sign out and sign back in. I’ve done that several times and it doesn’t help. You would think they should easily be able to correct something this simple, but evidently not. Any other ideas?

The uninstall/reinstall doesn't work.

It is infuriating. I've spent more than an hour and a half on it. Mine disappeared when I got a new mac, "maybe it's because your operating system isn't up to speed," the zoom rep wrote. Right, the brand new mac isn't up to date but the filters are still fine on my old mac. Sigh.

It is infuriating because it isn't an operating system issue. It took me months to actually get an agent to give me a straight answer on this - it's a change they made that made filters unavailable to my region, but they act as if they're coming back, but have no ETA as to when. In light of that, having another asinine agent give BS advice and shirk off a customer is indeed infuriating.

I can't believe zoom deleted the video filters, which allowed white balancing the color of your face. Now I'm stuck with a crappy magenta hue. Not good. It would be smart to bring back the video filters.

I bought this Zoom account to run meetings, specifically because of the filters since the lighting in my office doesn't come across well on video. I have since canceled all meetings since February because of this issue, but I can't continue putting them off, so I'm getting blackout curtains and actual filtered lighting for my office - a total waste of time and money. And I keep getting agents trying to blow me off instead of either getting me an explanation as to why the product I bought was changed without my knowledge or consent, when it will be fixed, and if neither is known, why no one for the past few months of my service requests has offered any compensation for not getting the product I paid for. Total runaround.

One recent tried to give me "sorry, don't know when it will be back, so keep checking the blog and release notes pages". The problem was never noted on either the blog to release notes, so I should keep sifting through these pages in my free time seeing when and if they get around to fixing this problem? That's not an answer.

I agree it’s infuriating. I have exchanged several emails with Zoom tech support. They want me to spend my time looking up information to see if I can figure out how to fix this problem and report back to them. Seriously? The last response I received was that the option is not available in my region and on my account. Well it was, so what happened to it, Zoom??  It’s a total waste of time and insulting to deal with tech support.

i think zoom should fix this issue

but mines is working fine

i am on a 9 year old lenovo laptop

Thank you. I’ve been through all this info with Zoom. I have all the system requirements etc., and I had the video filters option for approx. 2 years. It disappeared in one of the software upgrades. I am no longer receiving what I paid for, and Zoom tech support refuses to fix it. That’s the bottom line.
