closed captioning with a different language

I have wartched some videos on youtube about using the closed captioning on zoom with a meeting. 3 questions that were not answered nor addressed in those videos.

1. Can live captioning be done in a language other then english, ie: spanish

2. Can a person on a mic be assigned to be the person who is dictating the close caption which the meeting can be heard in the language being spoken.

3. Does closed captioning get captured in the meeting recording?

  1. If a participant is manually entering captions, they can certainly caption in any language they want. If your using automated captioning, then it is possible to have the captions generated in languages other than English. So, if the speaker is presenting in Spanish, then they should set their speaking language to Spanish so the captions are generated in Spanish. If still set to English, the system will try to transcribe their Spanish as English. 
    1. If you have someone to be speaking Spanish, but are wanting the captions to be generated in other languages (transcription and translation), that is also possible, but does currently require specific licensing. 
  2. Not sure what you're getting at here. Anyone can be assigned to manually provide captions in a meeting, although it would be difficult to both present AND provide your own captions. 
  3. Yes, captions can be captured as part of the recording. For cloud recordings, be sure the enable the Save closed caption as a VTT file option in your cloud recording settings.

When using automated captions and you select Spanish and speak Spanish during the meeting, does the cloud recording caption

show the captions in Spanish in the recording? I have tested and the saved transcript file seems to be in Spanish, but I am not sure of the cloud recording.
