Uninvited person

PatiS

Good morning,
my school uses the basic version of the zoom. We have set permanent links and a password for the meetings. Unfortunately, for a few days an uninvited guest connects to classes (impersonating students) and interferes with the class by shouting offensive texts at one of the students of a given class, and then disconnects immediately.

Is there any chance to discover this person's IP? Who that person is?

How can we strengthen the protection of our lessons?

Please help.

Hi @PatiS !

Thank you for reaching out.

To submit a report of violations of Zoom’s Terms of Service or Community Standards, please submit your report by completing the web form available at https://zoom.us/trust-form. Please include specific details about the meeting disruption in your report such as how did the intruder(s) violated our Terms of Service and if there was a certain type of abusive content that was shared by the offender(s) (via chat, audio, or video).

If you have questions pertaining to meeting or attendee data, please review your dashboard: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/204654719-Getting-started-with-Dashboard-. If you have a plan that does not include a dashboard or you are requesting additional information, please note that there are legal restrictions around what user data Zoom can share. We are not permitted to share user data with you except as required under applicable privacy laws. If your request, however, potentially involves criminal conduct, please consider reporting such conduct to law enforcement. Law enforcement may make requests for user data with valid legal process (e.g., a subpoena, court order, or a search warrant).

For more information about the information Zoom has, how law enforcement makes valid requests, and how we process them, please see our Government Requests Guide - https://explore.zoom.us/en/trust/government-requests-guide/.

Hope this helps! If so, don’t forget to mark the reply as an accepted solution

Please report these uninvited guests to Zoom, so that we can investigate and potentially block them. You can find more information on how to report abuse here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/200613919-Reporting-abusive-behavior

As for IP addresses, Zoom will only release that info to police upon official request.

In terms of going forward with better meeting security, I would recommend using the Waiting Room feature and potentially locking the meeting once everyone has joined. You can find out more about in-meeting security options here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360041848151

Hope that helps and please make sure to mark the solution as accepted if this information is what you needed.
