Two Hosts in Same Meeting

Louhrine
Listener

We had a meeting last night and our host froze, lost all of his Zoom meeting controls, we were unable to hear him although he could hear us.  Fortunately, we had co-hosts who were able to finish the meeting, but as co-host they were unable to do some of the functions of a host.   Are we able to have more than one host in a Zoom meeting?

Hi @Louhrine

You cannot have more than one actual Host at any one time.

If you have Co-Hosts assigned in your Meeting, if the Host drops out (loses connection) for any reason, the Host role will automatically be passed to a Co-Host - usually to the first Co-Host to have been assigned.

If your Host lost meeting controls (so was unable to pass Host to someone else) they could have force-quit the Zoom application, and Host would have been passed to a Co-Host.

The Host could then re-join and could re-claim Host.

The problem your Host experienced sounds like a software problem though - so I would recommend your Host checks they are running on the latest version of Zoom.
