Turn on Video

My husband has had a stroke so learning new things is very difficult for him.

Zoom is now requiring him to start the video every time he joins a meeting.  Is there some way to ensure this happens by default.

Also switching of screen sharing is difficult, because it is in a different place from switching it on.  The Off button needs to be much bigger.   There is too much information on the buttons.

Please can we have a simplified version for people who are not computer savvy but still like to join Zoom meetings.

There is a setting in Zoom's software to disable the video by default when joining a meeting. Here is how you can find this setting:

Disable video by default

To enable Turn off my video when joining meeting:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom Desktop Client.
  2. Click your profile picture then click Settings.
  3. Click Video Alex_PFT_0-1644331174130.png

  4. Select the Turn off my video when joining meeting check box.

@citizenz555 if you want to make sure video always comes on, you can uncheck the 'Always show video preview when joining' checkbox within the Video Settings, it should go directly into the meeting with video on.
