Searching for a link to explain the definition to "Opt Rec for 3rd Party Video Edit".  What is the meaning?  Does it allow a 3rd party individual to alter or edit a Zoom Meeting Video? By selecting this option, what is the consequence? What is the benefit?

Hi @lhardaway ,

This article has a brief definition of what that setting does: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360060316092-Changing-basic-and-advanced-cloud-recording-s...

Essentially, this slightly changes the way the video is stored, so that if you were to edit this with video editing software, the video file would be more compatible and easier for the software to work with. The video is still yours to download and share as you see fit.

Hope that helps and please make sure to mark the solution as accepted if this information is what you needed.

Hey, "Opt Rec for 3rd Party Video Edit" likely refers to an option in a video conferencing or recording software that allows the recording of a meeting to be shared with a third party for editing purposes.

Selecting this option would likely give permission for a third party to edit the video, possibly allowing them to cut, splice, or add additional footage. The consequences of this option depend on the context and the intentions of the third party.

The benefit of selecting this option is that it allows for more flexibility and control over the final product of the video recording, as well as potentially saving time and effort by outsourcing the editing process to a third party. However, it is important to consider any potential privacy or security concerns before sharing the recording with a third party.
