Meetings -- Have the Alternate Hosts show on the Meetings Tab

Maybe this is a feature request, but it would be a good idea to have Meetings where a user is named as an alternate host show up in the Meetings Tab in the in Zoom Client or Upcoming Meetings in the Zoom.us web page.

When a meeting is scheduled, the alternate host(s) get an e-mail notifying them, but the meeting does not show up in the Meetings tab.

Tks!

Look into Scheduling Privilege as an alternative to Alternate Hosts. With Scheduling Privilege, meetings can be seen for both accounts. See this Zoom Support article for details;

https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362803-Scheduling-Privilege

If you need any guidance, or if this counting won’t work for your use case, let me know and we can discuss other options.

@Ray_Harwood Thank you.  This is good information, but I don't think this is the solution for our situation.  Let me provide details.  This is for a Town government Zoom account.  They are using Zoom to facilitate hybrid (in person/remote) meetings for boards and commissions.  The board chair or secretary schedules the meeting, and they can also designate others to be alternative host.  The reason for this is that a host needs to start the meeting, and having an alternate allows for another person to step in and start the meeting in case of an absence, etc.   So, for example - a board secretary schedules the meeting, files the agenda (with the proper meeting link) with the Town Clerk, and the meeting is shown on the Town web site so that the public can 'attend' the meeting virtually.  We use the waiting room feature, so only the host/alternate host can start the meeting and let others into the meeting.  I'm asking that the meetings show up in the Meetings tab in the Zoom client for the alternate hosts.  Sure, they can go to the web site, get the link, and then click the link and go from there, but it would be great if meeting showed up in the tab.

As you can imagine, when there are multiple people in the physical meeting room, plus more in the waiting room, there is pressure to start the meeting and get the technology 'right' so that the meeting can proceed.  Having the meeting show up in the Meetings tab would alleviate some of the 'Zoom anxiety' IMHO.

@dmoglin, thanks for the additional info - very helpful.

So if Alternate Host is your best bet, this bullet from the Zoom Support article for Alternate Host will govern the Alternate Host's means to start the meeting:

  • The alternative host can start the meeting using the join link in the email or calendar invite sent to them by the host. The meeting will not display in the upcoming meetings list in the desktop client, mobile app, or web page for alternative hosts.

Us volunteers in the Zoom Community don’t have a way to handle feature requests, so if having these meetings show up on the Alternate Hosts list is a change you'd like to see, please use this Zoom web page to make a feature request directly to Zoom staff:
https://www.zoom.us/feed

Currently, only sessions scheduled by you or authorized Scheduling Privilege holders will be shown on the web site or your Zoom client.  If you have Scheduling Privileges, your session displays will have a drop-down selector to show all or only a certain user's sessions...

On Zoom Windows PC client:

Meetings you are attending, registered for, or alternate host for are not included in your list.

Alternate hosts can join the meeting before the host arrives, and will have host permission.  But if they don't have the meeting saved in their calendar (or yellow sticky notes, or something!), then they probably won't get there.  😐
