Cutting me off when there's only 2 of us.

Yesterday my zoom started closing down the meetings at 40 minutes, even though there are only 2 of us. I thought it was just a glitch, but its doing it again today.  It's embarrassing and inconvenient.  There don't appear to have been any changes to the terms and conditions to explain this.  The basic account says 3 or more for a 40 minute limit.  Any ideas?

Starting May 2, 2022, Zoom changed the meeting duration limit for 1:1 meetings hosted by Basic users on Free and Free (Credit Card Verified) accounts to 40 minutes. Please check the article below for more information on this change:

https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/5809097508109-May-2-2022-Free-account-meeting-duration-cha...

If this helped, please remember to click on the "Accept as Solution" button below.

This change was integrated into your software without an update to its existing user-facing areas such as dialogs, in-app notifications, and the meeting creation page. These still set the user expectation that there is only a 40-minute time-limit on meetings with 3+ participants. Please update your in-app dialogs and pages.

Yeah, I just called them and on May 2nd they changed their Basic plan to kick you out after 40 minutes. This was an executive decision and it's another sign of capitalistic greed from large companies. I loved Zoom and was proud of how they supported people during the beginning of virus - to the point where I opted out of participating in the lawsuit against them even though I experienced multiple meetings that were Zoombombed - but this decision is a game changer for me. Will be switching to Google Chat - another capitalistic powerhouse, but they're still free for basic use, for now at least. So sad and frustrating.

Zoom has become the streaming equivalent of drug pushers.  Get people hooked, then jack up the cost.

Looks like I'll just have to get used to using 40-minute blocks and re-starting.
