The Zoom Events team is working hard behind the scenes to help Hosts create the best virtual experiences for their customers. Take a peek at the latest updates and enhancements that were released over the weekend!

Which feature(s) are you most looking forward to using? Any questions? Comment below!

Record your event locally rather than in the cloud!

Recording of conferences (across all sessions) and events can now be recorded locally instead of only to the cloud. Hosts must enable the local recording option.

Expo Toolbar for Attendees

Attendees’ will now have toolbars for the Expo floor and booths, displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen. The Expo floor toolbar will display icons for Settings (includes Preferences and Spatial View), Near Me, Expanded Map, and zoom in/out. The Expo booth toolbar will display icons for Settings, Near Me, and Leave Booth. Previously, Attendees’ Expo tools were located in a horizontal header bar.

Support for Zoom Rooms and Zoom Personal Room

Host, Speakers, and Attendees can attend events from a Zoom Room or a Zoom Personal Room.

Webinar In-session Branding
Hosts can customize the appearance of the in-webinar experience by adding a wallpaper behind the video tiles, setting a common virtual background for all Panelists, and providing name tags for each Panelist. Event Hosts can set this at the event level and also make changes for individual sessions. (Note: This requires version 5.10.0 or higher to use and/or view, but does not require this version to join the webinar.)

Pre-registration for external Attendees (Free events, Public Hubs only)
Attendees can receive join links in an email invitation after being pre-registered for an event by the Host when the event is published.

@AustinP  thanks for the update.  for the "pre-registration" its not really working as I would have expected.  People will till need to complete registration instead of getting a link\ticket automatically.  Could you add some clarification?

@DeniseLahat, Pre-Registration is intended to simplify the registration and join process. Have you explored this support article that outlines the Pre-registration process? I'd love to hear more about how you'd expect Pre-registration to function.

@AustinP  Preregistration will be used mainly for events where participants register\pay in another platform.  So once I upload the csv file with the registrants I would expect them to get an e-mail notification saying "thank you for registering to our event.  To join the event lobby click here".  If there are any legal zoom disclaimers then they should be in the e-mail or come up in the workflow when you click "join lobby".

Hve just used the Webinar In-session Branding feature  in a webinar. Runs well be requires good cameras and lighting at the speaker/panelist end otherwise the blur effect is distracting.

Important question about Wallpaper, having issues and conference is next week!

Apologies to jump in, but I have 'In Meeting (Advanced) and have Webinar - Session Branding turned on, but when I attempt to upload an image in Events/Webinar, I can't click on it.

I can do the Name tag, but I want to utilize the 'Webinar Wallpaper'.

I am using PC Version: 5.10.4 (5035)

Images attached, to help.
