What video editing software to use for downloaded webinar?

Hi, company policy is to delete webinars after 3 months so I always have to download them. This gives me separate files for the video and transcript. Can anyone recommend video editing software to piece them back together and, ideally, make the transcript searchable so I can then upload them to our internal file sharing system? Thanks.

Sure thing! It sounds like you're looking for video editing software that can help you piece together downloaded webinars and make the transcripts searchable. One great option for your needs could be Adobe Premiere Pro. It's a professional-grade video editing software that offers robust features for combining video and audio tracks. You can import both your webinar video and transcript, synchronize them, and even add captions for better accessibility.

Another software to consider is Camtasia. It's known for its user-friendly interface and is excellent for beginners. It allows you to easily combine video and audio tracks, add captions, and create searchable transcripts using its built-in features.

If you're looking for a free option, DaVinci Resolve could be a good choice. It's a powerful software that offers advanced editing capabilities, including audio and video syncing. Additionally, you can use its built-in tools to add captions and export your video with the transcript embedded.

For making your transcript searchable within the video, you might want to explore platforms like YouTube. By uploading your edited video with captions to YouTube, it automatically generates a searchable transcript, making it easy for your colleagues to find specific content within the webinar.

In terms of making the transcript searchable before uploading to your internal file sharing system, you might want to look into dedicated transcription services that can generate time-stamped  capcut mod apk without vpn transcripts. Tools like Rev or Otter.ai can help you transcribe the webinar, and their output often includes timestamps, making it easier to navigate the content.

Remember to check: compatibility with your operating system and consider the learning curve of each software. Ultimately, the right choice depends on your specific needs and your level of familiarity with video editing tools. Good luck, and I hope you find the perfect solution for your webinar editing tasks!

Late to the party, Caroline, sorry. FWIW, we use Davinci Resolve (Version 17)

Still figuring out the best workflow (since we now have many more recording options that in the recent past)

Cheers,

George

Thanks both. I have used iMovie but not sure it will give me a searchable transcript so will look into it. Thanks for the DaVinci tip - will also take a look at that.

Thanks

Caroline

Happy to help.

Davinci btw has a feature that allows you to add a transcript file to a video as a closed captioning overlay.
