Best way to provide language translations to a recorded video presentation

Sienta

Hello,

I am organising a 3 part webinar where 1 presenter will be live and 2 presenters may be pre-recorded. We will provide live translators in English, Chinese and Japanese (we have Zoom Enterprise).

From Zoom's Support pages, I found this:

When using language interpretation and sharing your screen with computer audio, the shared audio will be broadcast at 100% to all. We recommend avoiding sharing audio in while language interpretation is active to avoid the audio imbalance this may cause.

What is the best way to provide the audio for all languages for this 3 part webinar?

Is break out rooms a solution?

Thank you.

The way we do it, is using a videoplayer with a virtual camera output, like OBS or VMIX.

@Sienta I hope what @Krijtbord said makes sense.

The aim here is to play the recording back as if it was a user on the call. i.e. you login as a user, change his name to the name you want to appear and then play the video using a video player as @Krijtbord described. Then Zoom thinks that the recording is just another speaker and will treat the audio in the same way as it treats the audio from a speaker's microphone.

Hope that helps and makes sense 🙂

a little update: I just tested with 'share screen +optimize for video & audio enabled'
If the interpreter translates, the shared sound is away. (and you only hear the interpreter)
So share screen is also possible

Interesting. I must test this. I had not seen an announce of this change to the client app.

Thanks for sharing this news 🙂
